The expected God of War 4 release date is yet unknown, but we do have proofs that gow IV will definitely be an online multiplayer experience. UPDATE: PSM3 has received some serious information from an unnamed source which claims GOW IV is coming September 2012.
We can rest assure there’s a God of War 4 on the works, and it seems that at least part of it will be an online multiplayer experience. This notice, posted in the site gamasutra reveals the Sony Santa Monica studios is indeed hiring a Senior Online Programmer to join their Join the God of War team. We highly expect to receive a god of war 4 release date soon, as the game starts being developed. The rumoured year of release is 2012.

i like the idea of the story in the GOW3 is not the end because although GOW3 is a good game it dosent have a good story line. i hate to say this but after finishing GOW3 i felt that it suck compare to the other GOW.
so i hope the GOW4 is a good come back and not a disappointing comback!!

to those who think they cant make a game cuz all of the gods are dead... Gaia is still alive and I am sure she is pretty pissed at kratos.
@Mike, I'm pretty sure that Gaia was never a God in this game. She was a Titan and she died at the end of GOW3 with Kratos Impaling Zeus on her heart.. :)
Anyway, adding multiplayer to GOW is like adding hot sauce to a donut. Definitely doesn't need it.

the way i see it is the way they ended the third one was the transition from greek mythology to the modern day beliefs cause if you remember in GOW1 on one of the murals they made referce to the wise men and jesus maybe they trying to say kratos becomes or fights th new god

I don't think it is going to be kratos... its supposed to be modern times with a new hero and its sposed to be a military type game sooooooo yeah no kratos and thats why its going to be multiplayer

I disagree that the god of war stories are all dead. God of War Egyptian Bloodlines furthers the story way past the Greek Gods. they are gone but there are so many other religions which can take Kratos and torture him. This is just the first book in the series. September is not just the release for the next game God of War II's book is being released then as well.
